The Mother Pack TYGRIX embodies not only the origin and strategic core of TYR but also the founding vision and ideological framework of the organization. As the first and oldest Pack, TYGRIX represents the purest expression of the TYR doctrine: uncompromising reconnaissance, operational self-reliance, and a deep-rooted loyalty to the Hatrkarl Clan and the Nidavellir clan community. From the outset, the objective was to remain a small, highly effective PMC rather than evolve into a large-scale PMA.
Here, the SFK long-range reconnaissance command is stationed – but TYGRIX also serves as the gateway into Stanton’s underworld. Operating from Grim Hex, once a refuge for squatters and now a stronghold of the Nine Tails pirates, TYR functions beyond the official jurisdiction of the UEE. In the asteroid belt of Yela, a network of informants, traders, mercenaries, and traitors has taken shape – a network TYGRIX not only exploits but actively shapes. What some see as lawlessness, TYGRIX regards as operational freedom.
TYGRIX Pack Members are reputed to go over corpses if necessary to achieve their objectives – especially when it comes to “hate and vengeance.” Here, ruthlessness is not seen as a flaw but as a survival strategy in a world where moral ambiguity is daily reality.
TYGRIX views itself as TYR’s dark seedbed and, at the same time, as an indispensable engine in the operational underground. Beyond its military role, the Pack runs GrimNeck Repair & Engineering, a technical workshop that doubles as a cover for intelligence operations, modifications, and serial number alterations. It also took control of the legendary GrimNeck Radio, now repurposed under TYGRIX leadership to spread subversive narratives and serve as an unofficial communications hub within the galaxy’s shadow networks.
Through the organization of the Hexagon Fighting Championship, TYGRIX has also established a cultural format within the asteroid belt – an event that unites brutality, honor, and hierarchy, crystallizing Pack identity. Relations with Crusader Security are ambivalent: officially, TYGRIX distances itself from terrorism and piracy; unofficially, the line between mission requirements, self-interest, and tactical cooperation often blurs. What one may call a necessity for operational success, another will label organized crime. As mercenaries, they are not UEE Military, nor do they act in the name of the Senate.
Many TYGRIX members are veterans of the UEEN Navy, Military or Marines – shaped by the ideals of an Empire they once defended and whose downfall they refuse to accept. Their fight is not against the UEE itself but against the enemies of TYR or the designated objectives of a contract. They wear uniforms in thought, wield weapons by conviction, and act in the spirit of discipline, vengeance, and clan loyalty.
In daily practice, GrimNecks revolve around weapons, violence, and alcohol – just as TYGRIX does – but always with the uncompromising drive to preserve and advance the professionalism of the SFK Nidhöggr reconnaissance unit. After the official disbandment of the UEEN Naval Recon Force Nightrunner unit in 2955, TYGRIX adopted the name “Nightrunners” for its shadow operatives – silent heirs to the military past of several TYGRIX Pack members.
TYGRIX is therefore not merely a place – it is a condition, an attitude, and the supreme value for all members of the Pack.
